I stopped dating people, because I was so embarrassed about my IBS symptoms popping up at the worst possible times. My IBS symptoms were generally quite heavy but not very frequent. The worst part of the symptoms was their unpredictability. I became a nervous wreck because I never knew if “today was the day” that I would feel miserable. Over time they did become more frequent and I was sick about once every three days on average.
